In case you missed us at the #hire21 expo, here is a recap of the event highlights.
RPM HIRE Hire21 Stand
The Hire21 event took place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, hosted by the Hire and Rental Industry Association of Australia (HRIA).
The RPM Hire stand was located at N114, displaying one our most popular and well known pieces of traffic management equipment – the variable message sign. Variable message signs are such a versatile piece of equipment that can be used to communicate messages instantly during events, road works and for advertising purposes. In addition displayed on the stand was the best new product nominee –The HighwayGuard.
Hole in one competition – The mini golf hole in one challenge, created a memorable experience for visitors. As they tried to score a hole in one through the challenging mini golf course complete with a spiral and hill. Visitors were keen to have a go at our “Hole In One” competition, to win a pair of RPM Hire socks and merchandise.
Best New Product Nominee – HighwayGuard Barrier System
Our HighwayGuard Barrier was a nominee for the Best New Product 2021, in the category of general hire.
In 2020 RPM Hire launched a new steel barrier called HighwayGuard. The HighwayGuard offers innovative deployment design and technological advancements. With TL-4 MASH rating, the highest rating available for temporary road barriers, it truly is the world’s safest temporary road barrier. The integral T-top design provides exceptional MASH TL-3 and TL-4 performance without the need for additional components. The 6m single barrier section, with the unique T-Connector provides quicker installation, removal and separation of barrier sections.
When designing the HighwayGuard barrier, Highway Care took the lessons learned from pioneering portable steel barrier technology with the BG800 barrier, a MASH TL-3 system. They wanted the new barrier to pass MASH TL-4 testing (10,000kg Truck, 90km/h, 15 degrees), but have fewer components with easier installation.
As a result, the HighwayGuard barrier has slightly more steel than the BG800 in an easy to handle 6m barrier section. With only three main components, the HighwayGuard barrier meets the design brief perfectly.

Rental Company of the Year Finalists
The RPM Hire team were super proud to be announced as a finalist for the rental company of the year award at the Hire21 Gala in the over $5 million category.
“We were Finalists in impressive company with Conplant and Aggreko. Both these businesses have been around for almost 60 years each, and their long-standing success is something we aspire to! it is humbling to stand alongside two amazing businesses!

It was a great honour to be recognised as one of Australia’s best hire companies in the HRIA Rental Hire Company of the Year Awards. Ashley Woodcock RPM Hire’s director was please to accept the finalist trophy on stage at the Hire21 Gala.
