SLED stands for Sentry Longitudinal Energy Dissipater. The SLED crash barrier is a narrow non re-directive gating crash cushion that is TL-3 MASH approved (when used in a 4 module configuration). The crash cushion is water filled and designed to shield the end of temporary barriers such as the JJ-Hooks and DB80 concrete barriers.
The SLED crash barrier has been uniquely designed, incorporating four internal steel cables to help envelop the impacting vehicle, this reduces the possibility of a second accident upon impact. SLED crash cushion consists of strong UV Stabilized plastic for maximum protection and long term durability.
The crash cushion can be utilized to protect workers and motorists in work zones up to 80km/h. The innovative anchor free system makes for fast crash cushion deployment and retrieval without compromising safety.
